Breeder of Call Ducks, Black East Indians, Miniature Silver Appleyards and Wildfowl.
I have been breeding various breeds of domestic waterfowl for over 7 years now. Starting back in 2000 with a pair of young commercial Aylesbury ducks that I purchased from a local game fair just a mile from home. I purchased the 2, week old ducklings and kept them hidden and secret from my parents for 2 weeks up in the stables. The rearing of these ducklings was my first introduction to animal imprinting and since those 2 ducklings I have never been with out Waterfowl at home.
Over the last 7 years I have been building up my collection of Domestic and Ornamental Waterfowl species for breeding and pleasure.
I breed the miniatures and bantams of the Domestics. I keep and breed 6 colours of Call Ducks in White, Apricot, Mallard, Bluefawn, Silver (Light, Dark and Apricot) and Bibbed (Black Blue and Lavender). I also breed 2 other breeds of bantam ducks the beautiful Black East Indians and versitile Miniature Silver Appleyard.
About 3 years ago I started to keep a couple of Wildfowl. These were the Eyton Whistlers a sub species of Tree ducks. I now maintain a small collection that I hope will breed given the right conditions.
In keeping with my birds I also attend Liverpool University where I am studying Veterinary Science.
The birds are kept at home in South Gloucestershire near Bristol.
